The Fire Prevention Bureau provides a number of programs designed to reduce the incidence and severity of fire loss through preventative measures.

Welcome to the Fire Prevention Bureau's Plan Review Division. We provide plan review services for the following cities Antioch, Clayton, Concord, El Sobrante, Lafayette, Martinez Pittsburg, Pleasant Hill, San Pablo, Walnut Creek, unincorporated areas of Contra Costa County know as Bay Point, Clyde, Pacheco, Port Chicago and North Richmond. We also provide plan review and new construction inspections for the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District including Bethel Island, Brentwood, Byron, Knightsen, Oakley and the remaining unincorporated areas of East Contra Costa County.

Through the plan review and construction inspection process, the Fire Prevention Bureau seeks to ensure that all new and remodeled buildings and facilities meet all of the State and local Building and Fire Code requirements. Division personnel conducted approximately 4,030 plan reviews resulting in three times that amount of new construction inspections during 2007.
