Contra Costa County Fire Protection District provides all hazard, mitigation services. Currently, 23 Engine and Truck companies service over 700,000 citizens daily.
Fire Suppression- commercial structures, residential and wildland vegetation responses.
Hazardous Material Response- CCCFPD Firefighters are trained to First Responder Operational level. Because the fire department will be the first 911 resource on the scene of private and industrial emergencies, they must have the training to isolate or mitigate the hazard. County Hazardous Material Response Team will respond and provide Technical Specialists.
Technical Rope Rescue- seven specialty companies throughout the fire district provide high and low and rescue services.
Confined Space Rescue- four confined space teams trained for response throughout the county supporting industry and respond to 911 calls for service.
Trench Rescue- CCCFPD Station 10 houses the trench rescue apparatus.
Swift Water Rescue Team- CCCFPD Swift Water Rescue responses have increased over the years. Highly trained personnel are located throughout the district ready to respond to the high risk task of rescue within our canals and water channels
Boat 84- a large portion of the fire district is bordered by water. CCCFPD Boat 84 is ready to launch from the Pittsburg Marina within a few minutes of the 911 call. US Coast Guard and Sheriff Department train and work with fire department staff to provide fire and rescue services on the water.
Dozer 220- selected CCCFPD firefighters have been trained to operated Dozer 220 which responds from the Martinez area. Dozer 220 has been a true asset utilized throughout the year to prepare fire trails and the Dozer is dispatched on large vegetation fires.
