Extreme Heat is expected for the area through at least the 5th. Please take precautions so as not to overheat.

Several cities and the county will be opening cooling centers, which are posted below.
The Brentwood Community Center and the Senior Center are designated as cooling centers during the summer months.
They are open as cooling centers during regular operating hours:
Community Center M-F, 8am – 5pm, 35 Oak Street
Senior Center M-TH, 9am – 4pm and 9am -3pm on Friday. 195 Griffith Lane
With the extreme heat conditions forecast for Friday and Saturday, in addition to the times previously listed, the Senior Center will remain open to 5pm on Friday, September 1 and also be open on Saturday, September 2, from 11am to 5pm.

They do not have plans to open any cooling centers; just directing folks to the standard air conditioned public facilities such as stores, malls, libraries, community and senior centers, movie theaters, etc.

The City of Antioch community centers are available to help residents who need a place to be out of the extreme heat these next few days. The Water Park is still open for general admission beginning Friday 9/1/17 at 4:00 pm. On Monday, Labor Day, admission is half-price all day from 11:00am to 6:00pm; $8.00 per person instead of $16.00 per person.
We will have FREE waters available at both the Thursday night Car Show and the Friday night First Friday events for all who attend.
On Friday, we are encouraging people to use existing public facilities to cool off; such as Senior Center, library, go to the movies, etc.
On Saturday, we will provide a cooling station in the community room of the Pittsburg Library between the hours of 1-7p, and water will be available.
Buchanan Pool and Ambrose Pool are also open with regular pool hours of 12 noon to 5pm.
