Support Services

Assistant Chief - Aaron McAlister

The Support Services Division provides a wide variety of services and emergency operations support functions. The Division consists of the following sections and/or areas of responsibility: Fire Apparatus Repair/Maintenance, Facilities Management, Supply, and Communications. Each section is headed by a manager who reports to the Support Services Assistant Chief. The Division employs a total of 48 full-time and part-time employees.

Apparatus Shop-The mission of the Fire District Apparatus Shop is to provide routine preventative maintenance and emergency repairs for our Fire Apparatus. The Apparatus Shop is run by the Fire Apparatus Manager who oversees 6 Fire Equipment Mechanics, a Fire Service Coordinator, and a Driver Clerk. The Fire District has 81 pieces of Fire Apparatus which includes Type 1, Type 2, Type 3, Type 4 engines as well as Quints, Water Tenders and Rescue vehicles. The Fire Mechanics are ASE certified as Truck Mechanics and CFMA certified to do work on Fire Apparatus.

Supply Section - The Supply section is the central warehousing point for the Fire District. The Supply section is managed by the Logistics Manager who directs a Driver Clerk to do the interoffice mail run and Student Workers to conduct various logistical needs. The Supply section is the storehouse for all of the district's household supplies, office supplies, medical equipment, firefighting equipment and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). In addition to storing and delivering products, the Supply section works with vendors to perform periodic NFPA compliant inspections of PPE, repair of equipment and training of new equipment.
