Con Fire has been engaged in a study concerning the feasibility of our annexing East Contra Costa Fire and/or Rodeo-Hercules Fire into our District since fall 2020.

The completed final annexation feasibility study from our consultant is now available and has been presented to the boards of directors of each of the three fire agencies. Each board will take up this matter, taking whatever action/s they deem appropriate. Links to each of these fire agency’s online resources on the subject are at left.

The Con Fire board of directors received a presentation from the consultant at the Fire Board meeting on July 20th. The governing boards of East Contra Costa Fire and Rodeo-Hercules Fire received their reports the week of July 12.

The report, which is available in two volumes below, confirms there are no impediments to annexation and points out specific benefits of providing additional resources to close gaps in service areas, implement consistent training programs throughout the new organization, increase effectiveness and firefighter safety with a unified operational philosophy, and provide necessary administrative support for the larger organization.
