Becoming a Fire Control Worker (Temporary Position)
Becoming a Fire Control Worker offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in fire behavior, control, and suppression techniques while contributing to public safety and environmental preservation. Step 1 Minimum Qualifications:
Confirm you meet the minimum requirements listed below.
Age: At least 18 years of age at date of final filing applications.
Education: A high school diploma, GED equivalent or high school proficiency certificate.
Licenses: A valid California Driver License (at time of appointment), a valid CPR certificate.
Ability to meet health standards established by the County Medical Consultant.
Step 2 Application:

Step 3 Interviews:
Qualified candidates are selected to participate in an interview.
Step 4 Conditional Job Offer:
Successful candidates will receive a conditional job offer.

Pre-Employment Medical, Livescan & DMV Pull:
The job is contingent upon successful completion of a thorough medical and background live scan.
Step 6 Final Job Offer:
Successful candidates are issued a final job offer and welcomed to the 2 week long Training Academy.
Step 7 Training Academy (3 weeks):
Complete a physically and academically rigorous Training Academy.
