Community Risk Reduction (CRR) Unit

The Community Risk Reduction Unit of the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District has been tasked with ensuring the programs related to Exterior Fire Hazards and Public Education are administered in a professional and effective manner. 

The Fire Inspectors and Public Educators assigned to the Community Risk Reduction Unit (CRR) will ensure that the services, in regards to fire, life safety and education, for all persons who reside, work or visit Contra Costa County is provided for at the highest level.

  • AB38 (real property transfer)
  • Burn Permits (open burning)
  • Exterior Fire Hazards (complaint)
  • Firewise USA

  • Emergency Preparedness
  • Fire Extinguisher Use & Safety
  • Youth Firesetter Education
  • School Presentations
  • Fire Safety for Senior Citizens
  • Smoke Alarm Assistance
  • Station Tours/Engine Demos/Safety Fairs/Special Events
